Springboks Bakkies Botha has retired from International Rugby

South Africa Rugby World Cup top player Bakkies Botha has declareed his retirement from international rugby. Botha made his Test on November 9, 2002 against France in Marseille. His 85th and last appearance for South Africa was last Saturday, when he went ahead as an issue in the 31-28 triumph over England at Twickenham.
The 35-year-old, Bakkies Botha won the Rugby World Cup with the Springboks in 2007 and was triumphant at very nearly every other level of the game. He has champs' decorations from the Tri-Nations, British & Irish Lions Series, Super Rugby, Currie Cup and Vodacom Cup, and the Heineken Cup and French Top 14.

Botha is the seventh most-topped Springbok ever, a three-time South Africa Rugby Player of the Year 2003, 2004 and 2005. He holds the world rugby record for the most Tests. He said he felt special to have played for South Africa again in 2013 and 2014, however it was time to venture down and hand the mantle over to the up and coming era of Springboks.

Botha has also said that the news of my retirement will likely be depicted as sudden and startling, yet it is a choice that I've been considering since 2011. When he limped off the field with an Achilles harm amid the Rugby World Cup in 2011, he felt he had not left the enjoyment all alone terms. I needed to desert the pullover knowing I respected the men who wore it before me, and the individuals who had upheld me all through my profession.
