The South African Rugby
Union on Monday paid its regards to Senzo Meyiwa, chief of Bafana who
was deplorably killed on Sunday evening. Oregan Hoskins, President of SARU,
said Meyiwa's demise denoted an exceptionally dismal day for South Africa, and
game in this nation. The Bafana commander was 27 years of age when he was shot
dead on Sunday evening.
"The loss of any
life is pitiful and grievous and alongside the South African Football
Association and other people in South African sport we'd like to pay our
regards to Senzo today," said Hoskins. "Our hearts go out
to his family and companions, and his Bafana and Orlando Pirates partners on an
exceptionally miserable day. Senzo was still a young person and he was one of
the stars in a South African soccer group on the up as of late."
South Africa Rugby team
skipper Jean de Villiers additionally paid his regards to Mayiwa. "Senzo's demise is
exceptionally awful and unnecessary," said De Villiers. "He was one of
those sportsmen who passed through the positions and worked hard to get to the
top. Our considerations and requests to God are with his family, companions and
colleagues on this exceptionally dismal day for South African sport."
Senzo
Meyiwa was born 24 September 1987 in Johannesburg, South Africa. He was played
in South Africa footballer team as a goalkeeper. On 2 June he made his debut
for SA in a 2-0 away victory against Lesotho. He was also included in the South Africa squad for 2013 Nations Cup. He
played three times in the South Africa Nations Cup against Congo.
